What is NTI Treatment?
Nociceptive Trigeminal Inhibition (NTI) prevents pain in the jaw’s nerves, usually caused by teeth clenching and grinding (often brought on by stress). This can lead to headaches and migraines.
NTI-TSS Guard
An NTI-TSS guard is a small plastic device that is custom-fitted to the top or bottom front teeth. Once fitted correctly, it will prevent you from clenching your jaw. This helps relax the jaw muscles and reduces pain in your jaw and/or headaches.
How Do I Get A NTI-TSS Guard?
First, you will need to schedule an appointment with our dentist to examine your mouth and evaluate whether or not an NTI-TSS guard would be a treatment option for you. If you’re a good fit, we will take an impression of your mouth and ship the mold to a lab. There, they’ll create a custom-fitted guard for your teeth. In a couple of weeks, you will come back to our office to have the guard fitted and answer any questions you may have.
